Today was a day for complete relaxation and coziness. Living in a place that's practically famous for it's hard winters, I was surprised that we haven't seen much snow until today. Seeing the light flakes gust over the sloping roof of the building next door made me want to do nothing but stay in, listen to music, and work on my latest painting, which I haven't been inspired to work on at all in the past few months. There is honestly nothing better than having a space of your own, where you can truly do anything that makes you happy at any given moment. The combination of the weather and my unusually tranquil attitude toward it also inspired a craving for Chai tea. I've never attempted to make Chai, but I think that, for a first attempt, it turned out pretty well.

Chai Tea
6 cardamom pods, split open
2 cinnamon sticks
5 whole cloves
2 t vanilla
2 tea bags Darjeeling tea
1 cup water
2 T honey
1 cup milk
Heat water, cardamon pods, cinnamon sticks, cloves and vanilla until it comes to a slow boil. Add tea bags and soak for approximately 3 minutes. Remove tea bags and add honey and milk. (I like a LOT of honey, so adjust accordingly.) Heat until warm. Pour through a sieve or strainer. Serve and enjoy.
